The Ngararia Farmers Cooperative was formed in the 1980's for coffee producers in the region with farms averaging less than 1 acre. Ngararia is a small village in Muranga County, Kenya.  Today they are proud to be home to over 700 specialty coffee producing members. Ngararia is a small Kikuyu word meaning 'someone who does not conform to the norm'.
